Patricia Doyle Curran, 79, of Bloomfield CT, died June 9, 2017 at Hartford Hospital. She is survived by her high-school sweetheart and husband of 57 years, Edmund T. Curran of Bloomfield; daughters Kathleen Curran and Elizabeth Curran; son Edmund and daughter-in-law Lauren Curran; and her beloved grandchildren Liam and Caitlin Curran. Pat leaves behind siblings Sister Colleen Doyle, a Sister of Mercy, Julie Gluhanich, Reverend Monsignor Jerald Doyle, Anthony Doyle, Dennis Doyle and sister-in-law Carol Doyle as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Pat was born January 24, 1938 in Bridgeport CT to her late parents, Anthony and Vivian Doyle. She graduated from Bassick High School and St. Vincent's Hospital School of Nursing in Bridgeport. She retired as Director of Nursing at the Bloomfield Convalescent Home. Her service to the elderly continued as a volunteer at St. Mary's Home in West Hartford.

A force of nature, Pat was heavily involved in many local groups among them the Bloomfield Junior Women's Club, the Irish-American Home Society, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, and the Bloomfield Mallet and Palate Club, and she opened her home to host visitors form Ireland, France and Japan. She was a long-time and active member of Sacred Heart Church in Bloomfield, serving as a lector, religious education teacher, Parish Council member and Lazarus Committee member. Pat enjoyed travel, cooking and reading.

The family would like to gratefully acknowledge the loving support and gentle presence of Naa Noi, who helped care for Pat in the last year of her illness.

Calling hours will be at Sacred Heart Church, 26 Wintonbury Ave, Bloomfield on Wednesday June 14 between the hours of 2:00 to 4:00pm and 6:00 to 8:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Church at 10:00am on Thursday June 15. Pat will be laid to rest at Mount St. Benedict Cemetery in Bloomfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Saint Mary Home in West Hartford, CT. Taylor & Modeen Funeral Home has care of arrangements.
