William Robert "Bob" Hawk of West Hartford, husband of Mary Ann (McCarthy) Hawk, died at 82 on January 21, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital. Born in Lineville, Iowa, Bob graduated from Lineville High School, Class of 1954. He enlisted with the U.S. Air Force and was stationed at Westover Air Force Base. Bob worked as a bookkeeper and office manager throughout his career and continued working part-time until the age of 72. After the death of his first wife, Bob remarried and he and Mary Ann made their home in West Hartford. He was a parishioner of the Church of St. Thomas the Apostle in West Hartford. He loved building things, working with wood, and was an avid golfer. He enjoyed Saturday play at Airways Golf Course with his wife and other couples and also enjoyed annual trips to Trapp Lodge in Stowe, VT. His greatest joy however was time spent with his family. Besides Mary Ann, his wife of 24 years, Bob leaves two sons, Stephen Hawk and his wife Valerie of Granby, and Kevin Hawk of Springfield, MA; his beloved granddaughter, Laura Hawk-Allen and her husband David of Windsor Locks; his brother George Hawk and his wife Shirley of Missouri; his sister Peggy Lieb of Iowa; and his three stepchildren, Mary Beth, Rob, and Kathy.
