William (Bill) Charles Dunakin, 79, of West Hartford, CT died on Monday, August 22, 2016. He was born March 29, 1937 in Geneva, Illinois to the late Paul Harold Dunakin and Elizabeth Buethe Dunakin. Bill graduated from Wheaton Community High School in 1955 and, after active submarine duty, graduated from Northwestern University in 1962. After 30 years as a computer consultant, he followed his dream to be an electrician and worked as a handyman for 23 years. He was also a former treasurer and lay reader at St. John's Episcopal Church, an avid tennis player, a volunteer with Bike West Hartford, and a great fan of UConn Women's Basketball. He is survived by Linda Kramer Dunakin, and his children, Courtney and husband Carl Bergeron, Andrew and wife Paca Narvaez, Robert, and Edward (Ted) and wife Lesley, and seven grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 27 at 11:00 am at St. John's Episcopal Church, 679 Farmington Avenue, West Hartford, CT 06119. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to www.episcopalrelief.org, www.elizabethparkct.org, www.sjparish.net, or a charity of one's choice. Condolences may be sent through www.taylorandmodeen.com.
