Vartan a resident of West Hartford passed away May 31 2017. Vartan was born in Tripoli Lebanon , the son of Aflaton Manoukian and Sirpouhi Tashjian Manoukian. While in Lebanon his father was his true mentor as they worked tirelessly together at his father's auto repair shop. Due to his father's declining health Vartan took over for his father and maintained the business. When Vartan came to this country he brought all of his outstanding technical skills and work ethic that were instilled in him by his father. He became a master Rolls Royce and Jaguar technician . Vartan started his career at Tyler Imports in Farmington, and then proceeded to become the E-Type Jaguar specialist at Pallotti and Poole Imported Motor Cars in Hartford, and continued on to Gorin Jaguar,Scharr Motors, Stephen Jaguar and Valenti Jaguar ,mastering all of the skills needed to keep up with all of the latest Jaguar technology. Vartan was always considered a leader in his trade with his knowledge, and he always reached out to assist his fellow associates in technical and customer support. In his retirement years, Vartan continued his associations with his former work associates and he also took great pride in mentoring and assisting young technicians entering the field and instilling in them the values of the ethics and responsibilities of his trade that he was so dedicated to. Vartan having traveled through Europe and the Middle East, and then settling in West Hartford, he found his special vacation destination in North Truro Cape Cod. For over 35 years that was his special home away from home where he made many long-lasting friendships. Vartan leaves his sister Ossanna Tatoian of Rocky Hill Ct,his brother Ohan Manoukian and his wife Nora of Foster City California, and his sister Azniv Sahjian and her husband Harry of Cheshire Ct. Vartan also leaves his life partner Wendy Allen of West Hartford Ct. He was predeceased by his sister Anahid Mosesian. Vartan has many nephews and nieces and grand nephews and nieces that he was so very proud of. Family was everything to Vartan.
