Stella J. Case, of West Hartford passed peacefully with her family by her side on May 3, 2017. Stella was born in Hartford and she attended Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic School. She was the only child of Polish Immigrants.
As a teenager she participated in Hartford Hospital's Blue Bird Program which was like pre-nursing education. She later moved to West Hartford where she attended Plant Jr. High School. She then attended Wm. Hall High School where she held positions of class President, Secretary and Treasurer and from which she graduated. Stella worked for Tip Top T.V. Service, as a bookkeeper, and later with the State of Connecticut Department of Transportation Rights of Way division where she was a secretary until she retired. She had too many friends to mention all of whom enjoyed her company and were very precious to her. She immersed herself in her family and enjoyed raising her three children and spending time with her three grandchildren whom she loved dearly. She was warm and inviting and had a passion for good food. The Holidays were always special to her as she could be with her family. All were welcome in Stella's home.
She leaves her husband of 60 years, Edward E. Case of West Hartford, sons Edward W. Case of Burlington, CT, Paul R. Case of West Hartford, CT Steven D. Case of West Hartford, CT, Grandsons Justin P. Case of West Hartford, Mason S. Case of Humboldt CA., and Granddaughter Sophie H. Case of San Francisco, CA. and several cousins. She was predeceased by her mother Josephine Solek Cwikla and her Father John Cwikla,. A graveside service will be held on Thursday May 11 at 11:00 am. at Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday May 10 from 4-7 pm. at the Taylor & Modeen Funeral Home 136 South Main St., West Hartford.
