Russell Fleming, beloved husband of the late Arline Fleming died
peacefully on Friday, July 29, 2016. He was born in Hartford, the son of
the late Charlotte and Alexander Fleming. In the early Fifties he
moved to West Hartford where he has resided ever since. Prior to
retiring he was employed by Western Electric for over forty years.
During World War II he joined the Army and was stationed in the South
Pacific. He is a member of the West Hartford Methodist Church. Russell
is survived by his daughter and her husband, Cheryl and Paul Osmers of
Naples Florida; three sons and daughter-in-laws, Paul and Pamela
Fleming of Litchfield, Robert and Kathleen Fleming of Concord
Massachusetts, Gary and Lucy Fleming of Newington and six
grandchildren. Private funeral services will be held for the family at
Taylor & Modeen Funeral Home, 136 South Main Street, West Hartford.
Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Memorial
contributions may be made to the West Hartford Methodist Church, 1358 New
