Muriel S. Shreve, R.N., formerly of Mountain Terrace Rd, West Hartford, died early Tuesday, March 7,2017 at 96 years of age. She was the wife of the late Robert W. Shreve, M.D. Mrs. Shreve was born in Hartford, CT on March 5, 1921. She was a graduate of the Hartford Hospital School of Nursing. In her later years she was a faithful volunteer in the Hartford Hospital Emergency Room where she amassed over 18,000 hours before her health forced her to retire in 2003. She is survived by her three daughters Carolyn S. Thompson and her husband J. Regis Thompson of Albany, NY; Nancy S. Klaus and her husband Ronald G. Klaus of Kinsale, Ireland; and Barbara S. Briggs of Indianapolis, Indiana; and by five grandchildren & five great grandchildren. Taylor & Modeen Funeral Home, West Hartford is handling arrangements. Memorial Services will be private. The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Hartford Hospital Emergency Dept. Fund, 80 Seymour St, Hartford, CT 06102-5037. For online condolences please visit
