Marion Ruth Holly, 97, of Glastonbury, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at home with her daughter and son-in-law by her side. Her husband, Edward C. Holly, who loved Marion with every ounce of his being, predeceased her 29 years ago.

Marion was born in Hartford on Valentine's Day, February 14, 1920, the daughter of Edward and Bertha Taylor. She lived most of her life in Hartford until moving to Glastonbury and eventually with her daughter and son in-law in 2008. She was a lifelong member of Calvary Church in West Hartford and served as a Sunday school teacher and Pioneer girls leader when her daughter was young. She worked many years at Curtis 1000 Envelope Company in West Hartford.

Marion was always very neat with every hair in place. Everyone loved her gentleness and unassuming character. She enjoyed knitting at the Glastonbury Senior Center and did crossword puzzles fervently. She loved TV game shows and old movies. Marion was also a huge part of her great-granddaughter's lives as they spent many hours with her. She loved them dearly.

Marion was a special and wonderful person. She leaves her daughter and son-in-law, Sharon L. and Robert A. Skripol of Glastonbury; two grandsons, Robert A. Skripol, Jr. and his wife Rebecca of Glastonbury, and Mark J. Skripol and his wife Cynthia of Coventry; and two great-granddaughters, Holly Grace and Emma Rose Skripol.

The family especially wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and aides from Vitas Hospice who lovingly cared for Marion.
