Marilyn Janice Meade Daley, widow of the late Henry Joseph Daley, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 1st, 2016 in West Hartford, CT. She was born on September 22,1935 to the late William and Florence (Larkin) Meade. She is survived by her daughters, Karen Daley Hull, and Brenda Daley Kozuch, son William M. Daley, grandchildren, Michael, Christopher, and Andrew Hull, Henry, Corey, Erik and Leila Kozuch, and April M. Daley, predeceased by Matthew W. Daley, and her great granddaughters Michaela and Brynne Hull, and Taylor Kozuch. She previously worked as a switchboard operator for SNET, Heublein in Farmington, Jacob Manufacturing in Bloomfield, and Connecticut Mutual / Mass Mutual. Marilyn was an avid member of Saint Timothy Church in West Hartford. Marilyn was adored by all who had the privilege of knowing her and her ever-present sense of humor. Most known for her generous heart, the smile on her face, and spunky spirit, she was happiest surrounded by family, relaxing on the beach, cooking for holidays, and giving her children and grandchildren life coaching through hand selected articles and prayer cards or by advice accompanied by her famous phrase "Grandma says!" After recovering from a recent cardiac affliction in April, she noted seeing her late husband during that time, waiting for her, at an open passenger door asking 'Are you ready to go, Marilyn?' To which she responded, 'Not yet, Henry.' It looks as though she'll now find rest in Heaven with God, and is ready for that long-awaited ride with her beloved late husband. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 5, 2016 at 10 a.m. at the Church of Saint Timothy 1116 North Main St., West Hartford. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow at St.Mary's Cemetery in Avon. Family and friends may call at the Taylor & Modeen Funeral Home 136 South Main St., West Hartford on Thursday August 4 from 5 to 7 pm.
