David E. Weaver, 77, formerly of Porter, Maine, passed away peacefully at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough, ME late Sunday evening, January 1, 2017. After his birth in Hartford, Connecticut on August 25, 1939, he returned to the family farm in Bloomfield, Connecticut with his parents, Elizabeth M. and Stanley L. Weaver. He attended Bloomfield Grammar School and graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1958. Shortly after graduating, he enlisted in the US Army and was sent to Fort Riley, Kansas. During his 3-year enlistment, he spent time in the southwest US and Germany.

After his military service, he became a tractor trailer driver, which led to his becoming a long distance owner/operator driver for North American Van Lines. Once his parents moved to Porter, Maine in retirement, when he had off time, he called Porter, Maine his home. Upon his retirement, it became his residence.

He was predeceased by his parents, Elizabeth M. and Stanley L. Weaver. He is survived by his sister, Elizabeth Marian (Betty) Stevens of Sebastian, Florida and his nephew, John F. Stevens, Jr. of Hudson, New Hampshire.

Burial will be in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery in Bloomfield, Connecticut at the convenience of the family. Arrangements entrusted to Taylor and Modeen Funeral Home, West Hartford, Connecticut.
