Anne Boornazian, 91, of West Hartford, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and sister in-law died peacefully on July 14, 2016 after a lengthy illness. She was predeceased by Charles Boornazian, her devoted husband of 63 years. Anne was the loving mother of: Charles H. Boornazian of Farmington, CT., Patricia Boornazian-Macdonald of Raynham, MA., mother in-law of: Barbara Boornazian and Andrew Macdonald, grandmother of : Sarah Boornazian, Bonnie Boornazian, Bryan Boornazian , Sean Macdonald, Cameron Macdonald, sister of: Mary Bagdigian, sister in-law of: Mary Boornazian and loving aunt to Donna Woodard, David Bagdigian as well as other family members.
After graduating from Hall High School at 16, Anne continued her love of music: playing the violin and singing throughout her adult years. Anne worked as an administrative assistant in a variety of settings including: Travelers, Connecticut Natural Gas and the West Hartford Chamber of Commerce. She found her "home" and retired after a lengthy career at Trinity College, where she was recognized for her work on women's issues. Anne's love of gardening and plants was one she maintained throughout her lifetime. She was an active member of the Altar Guild at Christ Church Cathedral. In retirement, Anne was an enthusiastic volunteer at University of Connecticut Health Center and, when wintering in Florida, at the Cleveland Clinic.
Anne's love of family and her five grandchildren was evident daily, not only in their interactions or discussions, but also in staying current on: their interests, achievements and happiness. At holidays and family gatherings, Anne was known to stop and chat with all present and at the end of the day, smiled when told that she had worked the room. Despite her long standing illness, Anne continued to start every meal by giving thanks for those whom she loved and with whom she continued to share her rich laughter. This was one of the many gifts that she gave her family.
A private family funeral service will be held July 25, 2016, 10:00 AM at Taylor &Modeen Funeral Home, West Hartford. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alzheimer's Association Connecticut 200 Executive Blvd., Suite 4B, Southington, CT 06489. For online condolences please visit www.taylorandmodeen.com
