This is very sad news. As one of the many Hall students who benefited from his advice and support, and also in my case his assistance in my admission to Bates as well as his good counsel during the early years of my career in public education, I send my deepest sympathy to his wife, Gladys. He will truly be missed.

I am saddened upon learning of Bob's passing. He was a dear friend and mentor. After I graduated from Hall, we stayed in touch. He remained interested in my career and my family. He will be missed by all of us whose lives he impacted. My condolences to Gladys -- both of you will remain in my thoughts and in my heart.

Dr. Dunn was a superb administrator, whose efforts kept Hall High School in the top ranks of public secondary schools for many years. Both of our children received excellent educations and guidance in their years there. Dr. Dunn was a true renaissance man and will be sorely missed. May he rest in peace. Our sincere condolences go out to his widow, Gladys.

I remember Dr. Dunn well. He obviously was very young when he was our principal, oh those many years ago. I will certainly always remember him. My sympathy to his wife and family.

A unique person of great accomplishment, the greatest of which was his sincere concern for acquaintances expressed through continued communications. Throughout the years, since being a student of his in the 1950s, he continued to communicate his caring thoughts and wishes for well being. Though his academic and philanthropic accomplishments have earned him the highest honors, his sincere personal expressions for others and its affect on recipients, place Dr. Dunn in a unique place in their hearts and minds.
