Sharon was a special thoughtful and caring person. Her supportive words and actions have made a difference in the lives of many families, children, and adults we serve at CURET. Sharon understood the hurdles and challenges of our service and responded with compassion. She was a talented listener and this enabled her to tap into real and felt needs, and she responded to the needs effectively. Sharon's legacy leaves an indelible mark at CURET.

My mother, Kathleen, was Sharon's admin assistant/secretary throughout her tenure at the Worcester Y. Despite their age differences, they became fast friends and my mother grew very fond of Sharon and admired her intelligence and wit as if she were her own daughter. I am hoping that they have a great reunion and many laughs now that they are reunited again in a far better place. Condolences to her family, friends and coworkers.

Thank you Sharon for always being there for me. Your love, kindness, sincerity, wisdom and patience will be missed, especially by me. I will miss your wicked sense of humor, your quirky dance, your vibrant spirit, and love of music. For almost 20 years, you have been a part of my family. And while I cry with heavy heart, I only have fond memories of our time together. Thank you for all that you have done for me.

I knew Sharon for about 20 years, pretty much the entire time she worked at the Foundation. She was encouraging and supportive. I loved talking with her about whatever Real Art Ways was up to, knowing that she would appreciate our effort and commitment, and meet it with her own. She was kind. And, as so many have noted, she had a fresh and vibrant sense of humor. I turned to her when it all was too much of a

"Once I had asked God for one or two extra inches in height, but instead, he made me as tall as the sky, so high that I could not measure myself... By giving me this height to reach people, he has also given me great responsibilities."

Malala Yousafzai

Like Malala, Sharon was given great height and ability to positively impact many, many lives. She took on that responsibility day in and day out. Invisibly to the recipients of her tireless commitment. I am glad I had the opportunity to know her.

Cheryl,
I am so sorry for your loss. Having worked with Sharon for the past two years. she was a very special person to not only myself but to the entire Foundation and the Greater Hartford community at large. Her heart, spirit, and wit are what I will miss the most about Sharon. She had a wonderful way of making everyone feel important and valued, as well as making us laugh. There is definitely a giant hole in the world now that she is no longer in it. I will always cherish the time we spent together.

Sincerely,
Steph MacGillivary

Sharon sincerely worked every day to make this world a better place than she found it. You did it, my friend. Your kind spirit, generous heart, and commitment to this community has made it a better place, and made all who knew you, better people. You will be so missed. And I promise, we'll keep working at it, every day.

When we at Hartford Food System heard the terrible news about Sharon, we were both shocked and deeply saddened. As one of the many nonprofits that she has guided and strengthened in the Hartford area, we are a better organization today because of her patient support, probing questions, and unfailing humor and optimism about what is possible. She will be so missed!

I think I can speak for all when I say, Sharon was truly a bright and full spirit with energy that could awaken happiness and self-worth in anyone. In the short time of knowing her, she has impacted me in such a profound way. Sharon's words of encouragement, day to day compliments, snippets of life advice, and humor will surely live on forever. I am thankful for the time I was able to share with her, and I know her spirit is still among us all.
